FULLMOON RISE - The End Of Life's Ages (DOUBLE CD)
WEREWOLF RECORDS is proud to present the entire demo discography of FULLMOON RISE, The End of Life’s Ages, on 2CD and ( 2LP vinyl COMING SOON) formats.
FULLMOON RISE hailed from Russia, and indeed a different era. Their entire recorded works were brief, but their atmosphere was ancient. Of those works, three primary demos were recorded: two in 1997, and their subsequently final one in ’98. Of course, with their geographical proximity to Poland, whose black metal underground was still enflamed in the glare of burning churches, FULLMOON RISE exhibited sonic similarities to the grimmest excesses of Graveland, Veles, and Infernum, but just as equally did they nod to the concurrent Concilium crew – again, ANCIENT.
The past is always alive with WEREWOLF, and now does the label compile the complete demos of the noble FULLMOON RISE, hereby titled The End of Life’s Ages. On the first disc / record is the album-length Cold, Darkness, Death, which is grim abandon incarnate and not without a bit of medieval melody. On the second disc / record is an otherwise-unreleased demo from 1997, hypnotically primitive in its ancient splendor, and the original “rehearsal” version of the band’s titular The End of Life’s Ages demo, where that hypnotic primitivism reaches a fever pitch. And then, just like that, FULLMOON RISE sank into the grave: an exquisite corpse, now reanimated during days when “black metal” is soft and safe.
